Steam, Sizzle, and Support: Knights of Columbus Ignite Fun and Funds for Toronto Live Steamers!

The Knights of Columbus came together with a spirit of community and generosity as they organized a delightful Memorial BBQ Fundraiser in support of the Toronto Live Steamers club. The event, held on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Hume’s Auction Farm, brought together families, friends, and steam locomotive enthusiasts for an unforgettable day of food, fun, and camaraderie.

The Toronto Live Steamers, a dedicated group of hobbyists passionate about preserving and sharing the joy of steam-powered locomotives, have been a beloved fixture in the community for many years. Their meticulously crafted miniature steam trains have captured the hearts of both young and old, offering an opportunity for visitors to experience the golden age of rail travel in a unique and interactive way. The August 13th event was held as a memorial to recently passed long time member of the Toronto Live Steamers Alan Bradshaw.

Families were greeted by the inviting aroma of sizzling burgers and hotdogs. From firing up the grills to preparing the delicious barbecue fare, the volunteers ensured that attendees were treated to a feast that delighted the taste buds and warmed the heart. Laughter filled the air as both kids and kids at heart were filled with excitement as they awaited their turn to ride the miniature steam trains. Members of the Toronto Live Steamers proudly showcased their intricate models, sharing their knowledge and passion with curious visitors.

As the day unfolded, the event exceeded everyone's expectations. The support from the community was overwhelming, with families and individuals of all ages enjoying the festivities. The sound of laughter, the smell of barbecue, and the sight of the miniature steam trains weaving through their tracks created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.

The funds raised through the Memorial BBQ fundraiser will enable the Toronto Live Steamers to continue their mission of preserving and sharing the magic of steam locomotives with the community.
